Where to get equipped for a Hyrox in France

Shoes, kit, accessories, nutrition, home equipment: who sells what in France, what you can find in store the day before a race, and the genuinely specialised players.

A first Hyrox needs almost nothing: a pair of shoes that holds up on a sled and an outfit that doesn't get in the way. Everything else gets added over time, race by race. This guide says where to buy what in France, what you can find in store on the Saturday before a race, and who the genuinely specialised players are.

What order to buy in

  1. Shoes. The one item where a bad choice costs you, over the eight kilometres of running as much as on the sled.
  2. Kit. Close-fitting, fast-drying. A running outfit does the job.
  3. Accessories. Knee sleeves, tall socks, hand grips: after a few sessions, once you know what actually bothers you.
  4. Home equipment. Last, and only if you can't train at a gym.

Nothing requires buying branded "Hyrox" gear. Licensed collections exist, but they aren't a condition for racing.

Shoes

This is the one item where a physical store still matters: you need to try them on.

  • i-Run: 27 stores across 15 cities, focused on running, trail and fitness, plus the website.
  • Running Conseil: 84 stores, with gait analysis included.
  • Decathlon: 393 stores, with a dedicated Hyrox x Puma page and section (87 references).
  • Intersport: 980 outlets, official Hyrox France partner, with race pre-registration available directly in store.

On brands, Puma is Hyrox's official gear partner, with the deal extended to 2030, hence the dedicated range found everywhere. Standard cross-training shoes remain perfectly valid: Nike Metcon, Reebok Nano, adidas Dropset, NoBull, TYR, Inov-8. Specialist press also mentions running-oriented models, such as the On Cloudboom Echo 3 or the Saucony Endorphin Pro 4, among athletes chasing a fast time over the eight kilometres.

Kit

Four French brands making gear for this exact use: Le Snatch Francais (hybrid ranges), RORE Active (technical womenswear, Hyrox collection), Barwodder and Very Bad Wod. For entry-level kit, Decathlon and Intersport are more than enough.

Accessories

  • Training Distribution (Seine-et-Marne): the widest multi-brand catalogue on the French market, 36 brands, and a genuine sponsor of French competitions.
  • Le Sport Discount: a Hyrox category with close to 200 references.
  • WODANDGO: hand grips, knee sleeves and ropes, a French brand with around fifteen sponsored athletes.
  • MURPH: 25 and 45 litre sports bags designed for racing.
  • Velites and Picsil: two Spanish brands distributed in France, Velites being a Hyrox France partner.

Nutrition

Myprotein is Hyrox's official nutrition partner. On the French side, Nutripure and Nutrimuscle cover the same need, and Toutelanutrition has around fifteen physical stores in addition to its website.

Home equipment

The serious French manufacturers and distributors for cross-training:

  • Fit & Rack: French manufacturer, showroom open near Lyon, lifetime warranty on structures.
  • Crossliftor: showroom near Marseille, sale and rental of competition-grade equipment.
  • Pallini Sport: manufacturer based in Normandy, dedicated Hyrox range.
  • RAKK: home gym packs and installation.
  • Powergym: exclusive distributor of the German brand ATX.
  • Leaderfit': focused on gyms and institutions.

For the rowing machine and the SkiErg, Concept2 is the official Hyrox partner: it's the equipment you'll find on race day.

Before buying a machine, check the gym directory: a few drop-in sessions cost noticeably less than a rowing machine, and you train on the competition's exact equipment.

Last-minute fixes the day before a race

Whatever's missing at the last minute can be found on the Saturday. Intersport and Decathlon are the two chains present in almost every city that hosts a race, and every race listing states what's available on site.

What equipment you'll actually race on

Hyrox's official partners worldwide: Puma (kit), Myprotein (nutrition), Concept2 (RowErg and SkiErg), Centr, Amazfit and BLACKROLL. In France, Red Bull, Fitness Park, Velites, Train Sweat Eat, Lucis, Bunq and 20 Minutes join them.

Traxrace doesn't sell anything. As of this guide's publication date, no link on this page is monetised and the site has no commercial agreement with the brands mentioned. The day that changes, it will be stated here, and the relevant links will be flagged as such.
