Your data

Privacy policy

What the site collects, why, for how long, who receives it, and how to take control of your data at any time.

Last updated: 3 October 2026

In short

Traxrace works without user accounts, without advertising profiling and without audience-measurement cookies. The site counts clicks on links that lead to other websites, without cookies, without keeping IP addresses and without ever trying to find out who you are. You only leave personal data if you decide to: by signing up to the newsletter, or by writing to us through the contact form.

Data controller

Benjamin Maxant, 3 rue du Gypse, 04000 Digne-les-Bains, France. For any question or request about your data: contact@traxrace.com.

Data collected and purposes

Newsletter sign-up

  • Data: email address, sign-up date, page the sign-up came from, subscription status.
  • Purpose: sending you the site’s news and the partner offers announced when you signed up.
  • Legal basis: your consent, given by voluntarily entering your address.
  • Retention: until you unsubscribe, then deletion. An unsubscribe link is included in every email and works in one click.

Contact form

  • Data: the name or first name you give, email address, subject and content of the message.
  • Purpose: handling your request and replying to you.
  • Legal basis: our legitimate interest in replying to someone who writes to us and, where relevant, the pre-contractual steps you take.
  • Retention: 12 months after the last exchange, unless the request leads to an ongoing relationship.

Technical logs

  • Data: IP address, date and time of the request, page requested, browser, generated automatically by the host on every visit.
  • Purpose: security, abuse detection and incident diagnosis.
  • Legal basis: our legitimate interest in keeping the service available and protected.
  • Retention: a short retention period applied by the host. These logs are not used for commercial purposes and are not cross-referenced with other data.

Clicks on outbound links

When you click a link that leaves Traxrace (a gym’s website, a race registration, a useful place, a product, the source of an article, an advertising slot), the click goes through an address on this site before redirecting you to the destination. This step is counted.

  • Data: the type of link, the originating listing, the destination domain, the page the click comes from, the date, the device type (mobile or desktop) and the country. No IP address is kept and no cookie is set.
  • Distinct visitors: a technical fingerprint computed from elements of the connection is used only to avoid counting the same person ten times in one day. It changes every day and allows neither recognising you from one day to the next nor identifying you.
  • Purpose: measuring the audience actually sent to the listed sites and to advertisers, and knowing which content is useful.
  • Legal basis: our legitimate interest in measuring the activity of our own site. Since this measurement involves neither a cookie nor a tracker that could follow you, it does not require prior consent.
  • Display of advertising slots: the number of times a slot actually appears on screen is counted in the same way, without a cookie or identifier.
  • Recipients: these counters stay internal. An advertiser only receives totals, never per-visitor data.

Audience measurement

The site’s audience is measured with Umami, open-source software that NextFabrique hosts itself in the European Union.

  • Data: pages viewed, page or site of origin, campaign parameters of the link (UTM), country, device type, browser and language, plus three actions (click to an external site, click on an advertisement, newsletter sign-up, without the email address). No IP address is kept, and no cookie or identifier is written to your device.
  • Distinct visits: a technical fingerprint, computed from elements of the connection and a regularly renewed value, avoids counting the same visit several times. It allows neither identifying you nor recognising you from one site to another.
  • Purpose: knowing the site’s audience and improving its content, exclusively on behalf of Traxrace.
  • Legal basis: our legitimate interest in measuring the audience of our own site, with statistical data only, without cross-referencing with any other processing and without passing it to a third party. This measurement is exempt from consent under the conditions set by the CNIL, the French data protection authority, and does not require a banner.
  • Retention: 13 months, then raw data is deleted.
  • Objection: nothing is measured if your browser sends the “Do Not Track” signal. You can also object at any time through the contact page.

Directory and agenda listings

Published listings contain business contact details (company name, address of the establishment, phone number, contact email, website) taken from public sources. These are professional data, published to inform the public. Anyone concerned can ask for a correction or removal through the contact page, without having to give a reason.

Athlete profiles

The name, nationality, category and competition results (ranking, times) shown on athlete profiles are factual data already published by the organisers of the competitions concerned. They are republished here for sports reporting, on the basis of legitimate interest, without prior individual consent. An athlete’s photo, biography, sponsors and detailed profile, however, remain subject to their explicit agreement before publication. Anyone concerned can ask for their profile to be corrected or removed through the contact page, without having to give a reason.

What the site does not do

  • No sale, rental or transfer of data to third parties.
  • No targeted advertising or profiling: the advertising slots shown never depend on who you are or on your history, only on the page you are viewing.
  • No tracking from one site to another, nor from one visit to the next over time: the audience measurement described above rebuilds no lasting individual journey and does not identify you.
  • No audience-measurement or social-network cookies: the Umami measurement tool works without any cookie or identifier written to your device (see the cookie policy).
  • No automated decision producing an effect on you.

Recipients and processors

Data is only accessible to the publisher and to the technical providers strictly necessary to run the site, bound by contract and with no right of their own to use it:

  • Vercel Inc.: Website hosting and technical logs. United States (head office), global delivery network. Privacy policy.
  • Supabase: Database and file storage. European Union (Frankfurt, Germany). Privacy policy.
  • Infomaniak Network SA: Mailboxes and email sending (contact, newsletter). Switzerland. Privacy policy.
  • Neon: Database for audience measurement (Umami). European Union (Frankfurt, Germany). Privacy policy.

Transfers outside the European Union

The site’s database and files are hosted in the European Union. Web hosting is provided by a US company, under the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses. Email is hosted in Switzerland, a country recognised by the European Commission as offering an adequate level of protection.

Security

The site is served exclusively over HTTPS. Access to administration data is restricted by authentication, and direct access to the database from the browser is disabled at the server level. Administration passwords are stored in an encrypted, non-reversible form.

Your rights

You have the right of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, objection and portability, as well as the right to withdraw your consent for the newsletter at any time. To exercise them, write to contact@traxrace.com stating your request. You will receive a reply within one month.

If the reply does not satisfy you, you can lodge a complaint with the CNIL: 3 place de Fontenoy, TSA 80715, 75334 Paris Cedex 07, France, or cnil.fr.

Minors

The site is aimed at adults. Signing up to the newsletter by a child under 15 requires the agreement of their legal representative. A sign-up reported as such is deleted on simple request.

Changes to this policy

This policy is updated as soon as a new processing activity goes live, in particular when an audience-measurement tool is added. The date of the last update appears at the top of the page.
