Hyrox Sends Legal Notices to Sites Republishing Its Race Results

At least eight services, including RoxOpt and HyCoach, received a cease and desist letter from Hyrox on October 15: seven days to stop scraping results, delete derived data and stop using the brand, or face legal action. Enough to change how athletes track their progress season to season.

At least eight services that republish or analyze Hyrox results received a cease and desist letter from the brand's German headquarters on October 15, according to the5krunner.com. RoxOpt and HyCoach confirmed receiving one; HYRESULT, HyroxVault and RoxTimes had neither confirmed nor denied as of that date. The letter gives seven days to stop scraping, delete all derived data, including any dataset used to train AI tools, and stop any commercial use of the Hyrox name. Without written confirmation within that window, the case moves to the brand's outside lawyers, who will seek damages.

Hyrox cites three legal grounds: database rights under section 87b of German copyright law, GDPR, since results display athlete personal data without explicit consent according to the brand, and trademark law. HyCoach's founder, who says he runs the tool alone, summed up the shock in a line picked up by the5krunner.com: a single email wiped out ten months of work. Worth noting for TraxRace readers, HyroxVault, whose training guides feed part of this site's watch list, is named among the services without confirmation that it received a letter.

What actually disappears for an athlete

No impact on the official standings: results.hyrox.com keeps showing final times and splits. What changes is everything built around that raw number. Split comparisons across seasons, time predictions, cross event rankings: only third party tools offered that. RoxOpt already announced it is cutting its results analysis features while keeping its training product. For an athlete tracking station by station progress between races, that is exactly the tool that showed whether sled push times were really improving, not just the finish line clock.

Worth watching, not a reason to worry about the races themselves

Worth taking seriously if you use one of these tools: export your own race data now, before it gets deleted. Nothing changes on the competition side, the letters target third party analysis sites, not official standings. One question stays open: Hyrox could use this cleanup to launch its own official splits analysis tool, which would partly explain the firmness of the letter.
