AVEROX 2026 - Course hybride took place from the 19 to 20 September 2026 in Amphithéâtre de Rodez, Bd du 122e Régiment d'Infanterie, 12000 Rodez. This edition is over. Formats available: Solo Open, Solo Pro, Duo Open, Duo Pro, Duo Mixte.

The first hybrid race organised in Aveyron, over two days at the Amphitheatre de Rodez. AVEROX is not a HYROX leg: the organiser says so itself, borrowing the codes of the hybrid format and adapting them, with no affiliation or licence. The principle stays the same, 8 kilometres of running broken up by eight stations, solo or in pairs, with an Open level open to everyone and a Pro level for competitors. It's run by the local paper Centre Presse and its events agency, with CrossFit Rutenes handling the technical side.

How much does it cost

Price
80 to 150 €
Pricing tiers
80 euros solo and 150 euros per team in pairs, so 75 euros per person. Registration includes the bib, refreshments, the recovery area and a finisher pack. One thing to watch: the O&B ticketing platform was set to close on 3 September 2026 at 1pm, while the race website still showed entries as open. Check directly with the organiser. The cap is 1,000 bibs, of which 559 had sold as of 2 September 2026. The Rodez tourist office listing shows a different price, 85 to 89 euros, which conflicts with the official website.

Race day, in practice

Where it happens

Good to know

The announced format

Eight stations separated by 1 km of running, in a fixed order, for 8 km in total. Loads follow four levels: sled push from 102 kg for Open women to 202 kg for Pro men, sled pull from 78 to 153 kg, farmers carry from 2x16 to 2x32 kg, sandbag lunges from 10 to 30 kg, wall balls from 4 kg on a 2.70 m target up to 9 kg on a 3 m target. Mixed pairs run on the men's Open loads.

Open is presented as accessible to anyone who can run 5 km without stopping and practises functional fitness. Pro targets competitors.

One thing to check before signing up

The website and the rulebook don't agree on the race content. The homepage announces an order starting with the rowing machine, with 50-metre sleds and 100 wall balls. The rulebook opens with the SkiErg instead, lists sleds as "15 m x sets", and even contradicts itself on the wall ball count, 30 in one place and 100 in another. Start times differ too: 8am according to the website, 8:30am according to the ticketing platform. For a first edition this isn't a dealbreaker, but it's worth getting the exact format confirmed before you train for it.

The organiser

Run by Centre Presse, the local paper, through its events agency, in partnership with CrossFit Rutenes in Onet-le-Chateau. The first to register choose their own start slot. There's no previous edition, so no attendance track record beyond the 1,000-bib cap.

Cancellation

No cooling-off right: entries are personal and non-refundable. The only exception is a cancellation by the organiser for force majeure, which entitles you to a full refund or a postponement.

Where to train nearby

Looking for a gym or box to get started with Hyrox, or to improve your fitness before AVEROX 2026 - Course hybride?

Below you will find the 4 gyms and boxes closest to the venue in Rodez, offering equipment and training in CrossFit, which transfer directly to Hyrox. Many of them train athletes all year round, which is the best way to prepare for a race over several weeks: structured sessions, the Hyrox stations (SkiErg, sled push and pull, rowing, wall balls) and coaches who know the format. If you are travelling for the event, contact them ahead of time to ask whether they welcome visiting athletes for a single session. Compare distance, equipment and drop-in conditions before you book.

Frequently asked questions

Is AVEROX an official HYROX event?

No. The organiser says so itself: AVEROX borrows the codes of the hybrid format and adapts them, with no HYROX affiliation or licence. Rodez isn't on the official HYROX France calendar. The Rodez tourist office calls it "Aveyron's first HYROX", but that's their wording, not the organiser's.

How much does registration cost?

80 euros solo, 150 euros per team in pairs. Bib, refreshments, recovery area and finisher pack included. The tourist office listing shows a different price, 85 to 89 euros, and there's no way to reconcile the two sources.

Do you need a medical certificate?

Yes, and it's a hard requirement. A certificate of no contraindication to competitive sport, dated less than a year old, is required at bib pickup. Without it, you won't be allowed to start.

How do you get there and where do you park?

Rodez train station is 1.2 kilometres away, about a 15-minute walk. By car, take the A75 at exit 42; there's free parking right next to the Amphitheatre.

Are there still places left?

As of 2 September 2026, 559 bibs had been sold out of a 1,000 cap. But the ticketing platform was set to close on 3 September at 1pm, while the race website still showed entries as open: contact the organiser to check.
