Where it happens
Good to know
The venue, its advantage and its constraint
Eurexpo is France's second-largest exhibition centre after Paris: 150,000 sq m, seven halls. It's in Chassieu, not Lyon, roughly halfway between the city centre and Saint-Exupery airport. The constraint is real on race day, and so is the advantage: 2,200 hotel rooms of every category within an 8-kilometre radius, something no other French leg documents as clearly.
Tram T5 serves Eurexpo every day outside July and August, running every 12 to 13 minutes at peak times, every 15 minutes off-peak, and up to every 30 minutes from 9pm. On a leg where the last waves finish late, that last figure matters.
What 25,843 athletes means
The May 2026 edition brought together 25,843 athletes over five days, including 3,441 in men's Open, 3,055 in mixed doubles and 2,475 in women's Open. That volume translates directly into wait times: bag drop, check-in, changing room access. Allow extra time, especially on a Saturday.
Changing rooms and services
Changing rooms and bag drop on site, no showers, as everywhere at HYROX. One bag per athlete, cabin-bag size, to drop off 45 to 60 minutes before your race. The venue also has a cash machine, a shop, free wifi in the main entrance, and a first-aid centre.
What's still missing
Wave schedule, prices, registration opening date, exact divisions, number of running laps: none of this is published as of 7 September 2026. The Adaptive division, present in 2026 with 13 athletes, isn't confirmed for this edition.
