Pyrénéus Tr'HYROX took place on 26 September 2026 in Pyrénéus CrossFit, 6 rue des Mesures, 09330 Montgailhard. This edition is over. Formats available: Duo Femmes Scaled, Duo Femmes RX, Duo Mixte Scaled, Duo Mixte RX, Duo Hommes Scaled, Duo Hommes RX.
A hybrid race in pairs in the Ariege Pyrenees, organised by Pyreneus CrossFit together with the Trail de Montgailhard. The gym describes itself as the only HYROX Training Club affiliate in Ariege since 2025, and calls the race "affiliated": it isn't a leg of the official circuit, Montgailhard isn't on the HYROX France calendar. The real difference from an indoor leg is elsewhere, and it's a genuine one: the eight running loops are run on a hiking trail, on a gentle uphill-then-downhill grade, with about ten metres of elevation gain per 800-metre loop.

- Price
- 83 €
- Pricing tiers
- 83 euros for each of the six categories. The registration page doesn't say whether that's per team or per athlete: worth confirming with the organiser. Entries are closed, with no published closing date. They opened in waves, starting with 50 spots, a deliberate choice for a first edition.
Race day, in practice
- Address
- 6 rue des Mesures, 09330 Montgailhard
- Bib pickup
- No classic bib pickup. The organiser asks athletes to check in at the front desk about an hour before their start slot, with a briefing ten minutes before the start. Start times are published in the online leaderboard.
- Parking
- No parking information published by the organiser. On a village race starting on a trail, it's best to allow extra time and check with the gym before race day.
- Transport
- The access point listed on the race page points to coordinates on avenue de Paris, in the hamlet of Tramesaygues in Montgailhard, which don't match the gym's address. No postal address for the start is published, and no information on access or the nearest train station either. Montgailhard is a few kilometres from Foix.
- Spectators
- Nothing is published about public access, catering or entertainment. The organiser's communication mentions a natural setting and a local race atmosphere, without practical detail.
- Allowed gear
- Two load levels. Scaled: light to medium sleds, lunges 10 to 15 kg, farmers carry 12 to 16 kg, wall balls 4 to 6 kg depending on the pair's makeup. RX: medium to heavy sleds, lunges up to 22.5 kg, farmers carry up to 24 kg, wall balls up to 9 kg. The organiser places Scaled below classic Open, and RX between Open and Pro.
Where it happens
Good to know
The format
Eight 800-metre running loops, 6.4 km in total, broken up by eight stations: SkiErg 1,000 m, sled push 50 m, sled pull 50 m, rowing machine 1,000 m, lunges 100 m, burpees 100 m, farmers carry 200 m and 100 wall balls. The running loops are done in a synchronised pair, the stations are split between the two teammates.
The race is pairs-only, there's no solo format.
The terrain changes everything
The loops aren't run on flat ground but on a hiking trail, with a gentle uphill-then-downhill grade and roughly 10 metres of elevation gain per loop. Over eight loops, that's 80 metres of positive elevation added to a race that normally has none. Worth noting: the organiser's original announcement described a course "with no elevation gain"; the information has since been corrected, and the detailed version is the one to trust.
How the day runs
Nineteen waves, one every 25 minutes, from 9am to 4:30pm, with up to five lanes per wave. Categories run in this order: Scaled women, Scaled men, Scaled mixed, RX women, RX mixed, then RX men to close.
79 teams were on the schedule when entries closed, roughly 158 athletes, across 85 available lanes. A first edition filling over 90 percent of its lanes, for a village gym, is worth noting.
What isn't published
The exact start address, parking, access, catering, awards, an announced capacity: none of this appears on the event's pages. The organiser communicates mainly through Instagram and its registration platform.

Where to train nearby
Looking for a gym or box to get started with Hyrox, or to improve your fitness before Pyrénéus Tr'HYROX?
Below you will find the gym closest to the venue in Montgailhard, offering equipment and training in Hyrox and CrossFit. Many of them train athletes all year round, which is the best way to prepare for a race over several weeks: structured sessions, the Hyrox stations (SkiErg, sled push and pull, rowing, wall balls) and coaches who know the format. One accepts visiting athletes as a drop-in, session by session, so you can warm up, rehearse the stations or simply keep your routine while you are in Montgailhard for the event. Compare distance, equipment and drop-in conditions before you book.
Frequently asked questions
Is this an official HYROX race?
No. Montgailhard isn't on the official HYROX France calendar. What's affiliated is the gym: Pyreneus describes itself as the only HYROX Training Club gym in Ariege since 2025. The organiser itself uses the word "affiliated" for the race, never "official leg".
Can you race solo?
No, the race is pairs-only, across six categories: men, women and mixed, each in Scaled and RX.
Is the course flat?
No. The eight 800-metre loops run on a hiking trail, on a gentle uphill-then-downhill grade, with roughly 10 metres of elevation gain per loop, 80 metres over the whole race. An older announcement described a flat course; it has since been corrected.
What's the difference between Scaled and RX?
The loads. The organiser places Scaled a notch below classic Open, with lunges from 10 to 15 kg and wall balls from 4 to 6 kg. RX sits between Open and Pro, with lunges up to 22.5 kg and wall balls up to 9 kg.
Can you still register?
No, entries are closed. 79 teams were entered when they closed, across 85 available lanes.
